10/06/08 - Sundowner Host Signup

It's that time again to plan for 2009's Sundowner Hosts! The Chamber will open it's doors at 8:00AM for a first come first serve basis on planning the hosts for the 2009 Sundowners.

Sundowners are a great opportunity to showcase your business. These networking opportunities happen on the fourth Wednesday of every month from 5:00PM-7:00PM. We have approximately 80-120 people in attendance.

10/09/08 - Chimney Rock Interpretive Asso. Volunteer Potluck
 

Chimney Rock Interpretive Association Volunteer Potluck, at 6:00pm, at the Community Center. Monthly potluck, every second Thursday, featuring speaker and good company is open to the public—please join us. CRIA will provide coffee, water and soft drinks. Anyone who wants to help with set up just c’mon by around 5:30pm--if anyone can stay and help clean and put away the tables, it is much appreciated.


10/11/08 - Oktoberfest by Archuleta Seniors, Inc.

Oktoberfest is the only fund raiser to help our senior with medical expenses. We also support trips and social events for them. We have a band, dancing, a stein, and a full meal (brat, sauerkraut, german potato salad, and dessert), and a silent auction at our event.

''Ceramics From the Potter's Wheel I' (Introductory) @ SHY RABBIT

This workshop will be held on Saturday mornings, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., on September 13, 20, 27 and October 4 and 11. An additional glazing date will be determined. Open studio time is also included in the course fee to encourage participants to practice on the wheel in between sessions. Dates and times will be provided upon request.

This 5-week introductory course will provide novice and experienced potters alike with a unique opportunity to create functional ceramics on the potter?s wheel under the guidance and encouragement of nationally recognized professional ceramist, D. Michael Coffee. Coffee?s work has been shown in over fifty national and international exhibitions, and is also included in several prestigious private and corporate collections, including the Vance Kirkland Museum in Denver, CO, and the American Museum of Ceramic Art (AMOCA) in Pomona, CA, among others.
